Piano Sonata No. 3 in D Minor, Op. 6
$20.00
This sonata was my main project beginning in October 2023, completed in April 2024. The full sonata takes thirty-five minutes to perform and consists of three movements; A sonata-allegro movement, a theme and variations, and a sonata-rondo. The work is monstrous and grotesque. It has a wide variety of expressive challenges as well as technical. My relationship with it evolved over the 6 months it took to write it, and though I can't decide if I like it, it is an invaluable cornerstone of my early compositional career as a 21-year-old and. As described by a close friend and colleague, the sonata is "grief-ridden, tragic, longing, and even destructive."
